Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has claimed that his side's Champions League hopes are over if they don't beat Arsenal on Monday.
The Magpies are currently five points behind the fourth-placed Gunners in the Premier League table.
When asked what chances his side would have of qualifying for the competition if they lost at the Emirates Stadium, Pardew said: "It would be over. The Champions League is over if we do not win this one.
"It is not a game which will decide our Europa League fate. The next 10 games will do that. This one is about the Champions League – if we win we will be throwing our names in the hat."
Newcastle drew 0-0 with Arsenal in the reverse fixture on the opening day of the season.
