Newcastle United's new signing Siem de Jong has insisted that the club's ambition is to secure Champions League football.
The 25-year-old will be part of Alan Pardew's team next season after signing a six-year deal for a reported £11m fee from Ajax on Tuesday.
The Magpies finished 10th in the Premier League last season, but De Jong has revealed that the North-East outfit have high ambitions.
"I think we're aiming for fourth and trying to be in the Champions League," De Jong told BBC Newcastle. "I think that is a nice goal, a tough goal, but one we're trying to aim for."
De Jong's brother Luuk spent six months on loan at Newcastle last season.
