Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has admitted that he is not thinking too much about becoming the all-time leading goalscorer for the Netherlands.

The striker goes into Friday's World Cup qualifier against Andorra just seven goals shy of Patrick Kluivert's record of 40.

"Of course it would be nice and an honour, too," Huntelaar told Algemeen Dagblad.

"Such accomplishments are the things you can look back on later, so of course I would like to. Patrick and I sometimes joke about it whenever we talk, but I'm not thinking about it too much, it only distracts from what really matters."

The Dutch are currently second in their qualifying group with two wins from their opening two games.
