Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri remains coy on his side's title chances, insisting that they will "take each day as it comes".

Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri has refused to speculate on his side's title chances, insisting that they will "take each day as it comes".

The Partenopei saw the gap at the top of Serie A close to just two points following their 1-0 win over Cagliari on Monday.

The Naples side face Pescara on Sunday as they look to stay in touch with league leaders Juventus, though Mazzarri warned that the league is "difficult".

Speaking about his side's win over Cagliari, Mazzarri told Gazzetta.it: "We really deserved this victory and Napoli are going through a fine period.

"It was a difficult game. We played well in the first half and just lacked something in the final third."

He added: "The Scudetto? We'll take each day as it comes. Today we saw just how difficult this league is and we will only know where we stand at the very end."

Napoli have taken 30 points from the first 14 games of Serie A.
