Rafael Benitez: 'Too early to discuss Gonzalo Higuain future'

Rafael Benitez refuses to be drawn on speculation linking top scorer Gonzalo Higuain with a move away from the club.

Napoli manager Rafael Benitez has said that it is "too early" to talk about the future of Gonzalo Higuain.

The Argentine has been strongly linked with a move away from the club, but Benitez chose to focus on his performance in their 1-0 victory over Lazio, instead of being drawn on transfer speculation.

"I think Gonzalo is having a great season and played at a very high level," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"He made the difference in the Super Cup and did the same today. He is a forward who opposition defences always have to worry about.

"Gonzalo is proving that he's focused and giving his best. I think it's too early to discuss his future and he should focus only on having a great campaign."

Higuain has scored 10 goals for Napoli in Serie A this season.
