Montreal Impact 1-1 Chicago Fire

Montreal Impact and Chicago Fire draw 1-1 in front of 58,912 supporters.

Montreal Impact and Chicago Fire drew 1-1 in front of a crowd of 58,912 earlier today.

Justin Braun came close to putting the home side in front in an otherwise uneventful first half, forcing a reaction save from Chicago goalkeeper Paolo Tornaghi.

Montreal captain Davy Arnaud broke the deadlock at the 57th minute when he headed home Sanna Nyassi's cross.

The lead didn't last long, with Dominic Oduro finding the net for Chicago at 71 minutes.

Josh Gardner almost produced a dramatic winner for the Impact with the final kick of the match, but his long-range strike came back off an upright.

The result saw Montreal come away with their first ever MLS point, having joined the league as an expansion team this season.

Montreal went down 2-0 in their season opener last weekend, away to Vancouver Whitecaps.
