Report: Mansfield Town to appoint Swindon Town boss David Flitcroft as manager

Mansfield Town will reveal their new manager on Thursday morning, with multiple media outlets linking Swindon Town boss David Flitcroft to the post vacated by Steve Evans.

Swindon Town boss David Flitcroft has reportedly decided to leave the club in order to take charge at Mansfield Town.

The Stags have been left without a manager after Steve Evans resigned on Tuesday before being appointed Peterborough United boss on Wednesday.

However, Mansfield have revealed that the vacancy has already been filled, confirming that an announcement will be made on Thursday morning.

Multiple outlets including BBC Sport and BT Sport have linked Flitcroft, who took over at the County Ground in June 2017, to the vacant Stags post.

"Mansfield Town chairman John Radford and chief executive Carolyn Radford have acted swiftly and diligently in their search for a new manager," a statement on the Mansfield website read.

"The club are pleased to announce that a new manager will be unveiled at a news conference at One Call Stadium at 10:45am tomorrow."

Swindon are seventh in League Two, three points and two places behind Mansfield.
