Brandon Williams 'wants to join a Premier League club on loan'

Manchester United defender Brandon Williams wants to join a Premier League club on loan, according to a report.

Manchester United defender Brandon Williams is reportedly keen to join a Premier League club on loan for the remainder of the 2020-21 campaign.

The 20-year-old made 36 appearances for the Red Devils last season but is behind both Luke Shaw and Alex Telles in the pecking order for the left-back spot, and he has only featured on five occasions this term.

Newcastle United and Southampton have both been strongly linked with the Englishman, and according to the Manchester Evening News, the youngster is prepared to leave Old Trafford on loan.

Bayer Leverkusen have also been credited with an interest, but the report claims that Williams wants to move to a Premier League club, suggesting that Newcastle and Southampton could go head to head for his signature.

The England Under-21s international, who is also capable of playing right-back, was not involved in United's EFL Cup semi-final with Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Williams penned a new long-term deal with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side last August.
