Manchester United have reportedly entered talks with Inter Milan over a swap deal involving Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Denzel Dumfries.
Right-back Dumfries has spent the first part of the summer at Euro 2024 with the Netherlands in Germany, where they were striving for continental glory.
The 28-year-old started five of his side's six matches at the tournament, cementing himself as a first-choice defender for manager Ronald Koeman.
Despite his best efforts, Dumfries was unable to guide the Netherlands towards Euro 24 triumph as they exited the competition at the semi-final stage to England.
In Serie A, the Dutchman was not always a top pick in the Inter Milan side, meaning that only 19 of his 31 league appearances came from the start of matches in 2023-24.

Man United plotting Dumfries swap deal?
According to The Athletic, Inter Milan's Dumfries could become the second Dutchman to join Manchester United this summer following the arrival of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.
The report claims that the two clubs have commenced talks over a possible swap deal involving Dumfries and current Red Devil Wan-Bissaka this summer.
It is understood that the former England international favours a move to the Italian giants, opposed to remaining in the Premier League ecosystem.
This has supposedly led to Wan-Bissaka snubbing a move to West Ham United, who are looking to enter a new era of success under Julen Lopetegui.
Dumfries has only ever played club football in the Netherlands and Italy, so it remains to be seen whether he would be willing to complete a high-profile switch to England.

What other right-backs have Man United targeted?
With Wan-Bissaka having just a single year left on his current deal at Old Trafford, Man United are planning for an immediate future without the former Crystal Palace man.
It has been reported that Erik ten Hag's side were chasing a move for Noussair Mazraoui, who is currently on the books of German giants Bayern Munich.
However, with West Ham pushing hard for the signature of the Moroccan, it is understood that the Red Devils are set to miss out on the 26-year-old.
It is claimed that Bayern and the Hammers have an agreement in place over the transfer, however the switch to the London Stadium for Mazraoui has not been completed just yet.
