West Ham to rival Man Utd for Mandzukic?

West Ham United are reportedly considering whether to join the race to sign Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic, who is also being linked with Manchester United.

West Ham United have reportedly identified Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic as a potential target for the January transfer window.

Having failed to secure a move away from Turin during the summer, Mandzukic is expected to make the switch to the Premier League at the beginning of 2020 after allegedly rejecting an offer from Qatar.

After parting ways with Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku, Manchester United continue to be linked with a bid for the Croatia international.

However, according to TuttoJuve, West Ham are considering whether to rival the North-West giants for the 33-year-old's signature.

While Manuel Pellegrini has plenty of options in the final third, summer arrivals Sebastian Haller and Albian Ajeti remain as his only recognised frontmen.

The Hammers are allegedly prepared to offer Mandzukic guaranteed playing time as an alternative to the squad role which he would likely take up at Old Trafford.
