West Ham United 'to resist any Chelsea approach for Declan Rice'

West Ham United intend to fend off interest from Chelsea and keep hold of midfielder Declan Rice beyond the summer, according to a report.

West Ham United are reportedly determined to keep hold of Declan Rice amid interest from Chelsea.

The 21-year-old is under contract at the Hammers until 2024, but has been persistently linked with a move away from the London Stadium following impressive performances over the past two seasons.

Rice's former club Chelsea are said to be eyeing up a reunion with their former youth product, but Manchester United have supposedly cooled their interest in the midfielder recently.

Recent reports have suggested that David Moyes's side may be open to a sale, but according to Goal, West Ham do not intend to part ways with Rice this summer.

The report claims that the Hammers are determined to keep Rice on the books next season, despite suggestions that they could be forced to sell their most prized asset in order to cope financially amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Since turning professional at West Ham in 2015, Rice has gone on to make 101 appearances for the club in all competitions, including 29 top-flight appearances this season.
