Arsene Wenger expects Manchester United to be "very active" in transfer window

Arsene Wenger believes that Manchester United will spend big money on players in the transfer window this summer.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that Manchester United will be "very active" in the transfer window this summer.

Louis van Gaal's side have already agreed to sign Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven for a reported £25m fee.

The North-West outfit have been linked to numerous big names, including Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.

Wenger expects United to be heavy spenders when the transfer market reopens in July, and the Frenchman has joked that every player that the Gunners are linked to, the Red Devils don't seem to be too far behind.

"Every player I am offered I am told Manchester United's on their case too," Wenger said in this morning's press conference. "We expect them to come back with some strong buys but they have already a very strong squad. It is top quality."

Arsenal will be without injured Danny Welbeck when they take on United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
