Danny Welbeck welcomes Robin van Persie to Manchester United

Danny Welbeck believes that Robin van Persie will increase Manchester United's chances of winning the Premier League title.

Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck believes that the arrival of Robin van Persie is an added boost to their chances of winning the Premier League title this season.

Van Persie, 29, completed his medical late on Thursday evening as the Dutchman prepares to complete his move from Arsenal.

"We're all delighted [that Van Persie is joining]," the 21-year-old told talkSPORT.

"He's a world-class striker and he's got major ability. He can change games, score goals and create them also.

"He's only going to help us in the title race."

United will start their 2012-13 Premier League campaign with an away game against Everton on Monday, August 20.
