Lucas Vazquez says new Real Madrid contract is "a complicated subject"

Makeshift Real Madrid right-back Lucas Vazquez says that he intends to continue giving his all on the pitch while talks over his future continue.

Lucas Vazquez has insisted that he is "very happy" at Real Madrid but remained coy when asked if he will sign a new contract with the club.

The 29-year-old is due to become a free agent at the end of the season after spending 13 years with Los Blancos, where he emerged through the youth ranks and into the first team, via a spell on loan with Espanyol.

Zinedine Zidane has used Vazquez 13 times in all competitions this season and last week urged Madrid to offer the versatile wideman fresh terms.

However, on the back of another solid showing at right-back in Wednesday's 2-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach, the Spain international gave little away on the subject of his future.

"It is a complicated subject... we'll see what happens," he told Movistar+. "I'm dedicated to working.

"In football sometimes it doesn't just depend on one side or the other. I am very happy to be at Madrid."

Manchester United have recently been tipped to move for Vazquez should his contract situation not be resolved by January.
