Arsenal will reportedly be given a free run at signing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan as Premier League rivals Manchester United do not intend to stand in their way.
The Red Devils were keen to bring in the Croatia international during Jose Mourinho's time in charge, only to fall short when it came to agreeing a fee with Inter both last summer and in 2017.
United were put on red alert last week when it was revealed that Perisic has handed in a transfer request at San Siro, opening the door for a switch to English football.
According to the London Evening Standard, however, United have shown little sign of resurrecting their interest in the 29-year-old, who was Mourinho's top attacking target.
Arsenal are more hopeful of striking a deal, it is claimed, and they are not expected to face any competition from United.
Perisic has spent four seasons at Inter, making 125 Serie A appearances for the club and playing a direct part in 57 goals.
