Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their search for new recruits by bidding for Porto winger James Rodriguez.
Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to be a big admirer of the left-footed Colombian and is faced with a bill of up to £30m in order to obtain him, according to the Daily Mail.
The 20-year-old starlet can play in a variety of forward positions and is considered one of the hottest young prospects in European football.
Porto are believed to be uninterested in any player exchange deal and will only listen to straight cash offers for Rodriguez.
