Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news and rumours today, including Matias Fernandez-Pardo to Liverpool and Hannibal Mejbri to Rangers.

Liverpool are reportedly one of three Premier League teams keeping a close eye on the future of Belgian starlet Matias Fernandez-Pardo.

The 19-year-old - who primarily plays on the left wing but can also operate just off the striker - represents Gent in his homeland and already has 10 goals to show from 28 appearances for the Belgian giants.

Fernandez-Pardo has two goals under his belt from seven matches in the 2024-25 campaign, and he has won 10 caps for Belgium's Under-19 side, netting three goals and setting up one more in the process.

According to journalist Chris Wheatley - via the Liverpool Echo - the teenager's exploits have caught the eye of Liverpool, who are one of a handful of teams hoping to prise him away from his homeland.

Leicester City and Southampton are also keeping a close eye on developments, and the 19-year-old could realistically expect more game time with the newly-promoted sides should he leave Gent before the August 30 deadline.

Fernandez-Pardo - who is reportedly represented solely by his father - is under contract with Gent until the end of the 2025-26 campaign.

Rangers' pursuit of Manchester United's Hannibal Mejbri in danger?

Speaking of young attackers, Rangers' pursuit of Manchester United protege Hannibal Mejbri is reportedly in danger due to their failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Mejbri is seemingly surplus to requirements at Old Trafford under Erik ten Hag, who has not selected him for either of Man United's opening Premier League matches with Fulham or Brighton & Hove Albion this term.

Following loan spells at Birmingham City and Sevilla, a permanent exit could now materialise for the Tunisia international, and Rangers have long been considered the favourites to strike a deal.

However, Football Insider reports that Philippe Clement's men may now struggle to lure Mejbri to Ibrox after being knocked out of the Champions League qualifiers by Dynamo Kiev earlier this month.

The 21-year-old is apparently desperate to play in Europe's top competition this season, and Rangers' Old Firm rivals Celtic could now steal a march on Clement's side in the race for his signature.

Teams in the Championship are also thought to be interested in Mejbri, who has played just 13 times for the senior Man United side and is out of contract in the summer of 2025.

Leicester City 'open to offers' for 21-year-old striker

Back in England, Leicester City striker Tom Cannon is apparently up for sale after falling even further down the pecking order at the King Power Stadium.

The 21-year-old was originally behind Jamie Vardy and Patson Daka at the start of the summer, although the latter is likely to be out until the end of 2025 due to a serious ankle injury.

Nevertheless, Vardy is now fully fit after a disrupted pre-season, and manager Steve Cooper has now added to his attacking ranks with the signing of Jordan Ayew from Crystal Palace.

As a result, The Sun claims that Leicester will entertain appropriate bids for Cannon, who did not even make the matchday squad for the Foxes' 2-1 Premier League loss to Fulham on Saturday.

Leicester will reportedly accept bids of around £7m for the Republic of Ireland international, who is at the centre of a two-way tussle between Championship sides Stoke City and Sheffield United.

The Blades are said to be hoping to strike a loan-to-buy deal for Cannon, who only has three goals under his belt from 16 matches in a Leicester jersey.

Swansea City chasing MLS goalkeeper?

At the other end of the field, Swansea City are apparently working to sign DC United goalkeeper Tyler Miller on loan following an injury to Andy Fisher.

The Swans have lost Fisher for several months due to a groin operation, leaving 22-year-old Nathan Broome as the only backup to first-choice Lawrence Vigouroux.

Broome is yet to make his senior debut for Swansea, who are therefore searching for a more experienced option in between the sticks, and BBC Sport reports that a move for Miller is in progress.

The 31-year-old has played just five MLS matches for DC United in the 2024 season, having missed the start of the campaign with fractured ribs, after making 25 appearances last season.

Negotiations are expected to proceed smoothly due to Swansea's connections with their American counterparts, whose co-chairmen Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan make up part of Swansea's ownership group.

Miller has also represented Seattle Sounders, Los Angeles FC and Minnesota United throughout his career, playing 128 MLS matches in total and keeping 36 clean sheets.
