Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens addresses rumours linking him with a potential move to Manchester United in the future.

Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens has conceded it would be difficult to turn down a move to Manchester United.

The Red Devils could look to bring in a new goalkeeper in the summer amid uncertainty surrounding Altay Bayindir's future at the club.

Bayindir has struggled for game time since arriving from Fenerbahce in September 2023, having had to settle for just seven appearances in all competitions.

The player's agent stated in the January transfer window that his client was keen to continue his playing career at Old Trafford.

However, it remains to be seen whether the Turkey international could entertain a summer departure to gain regulating playing time elsewhere.

Lammens addresses Man United rumours

If he were to depart, Man United would need to recruit a new shot-stopper to provide competition to Andre Onana, who has drawn criticism for a number of high-profile errors during his time at the club.

Royal Antwerp's Lammens is among the names who have been linked with a potential move to bolster Man United's goalkeeping options.

The 22-year-old has admitted that it would be difficult to turn down a move to the 20-time English champions if they came calling for his services.

"Wow, [it's] hard to say. I've only played one full season at Antwerp," Lammens told Belgian outlet Gazet Van Antwerpen.

"If something comes along that I can hardly say no to and that will benefit the club, I'll have to think about it seriously. But if I'm the first 'keeper here for another year, that's no problem."

Lammens makes "special" admission

The Belgium Under-21 international admitted that it felt "special" to be among the goalkeepers being linked with a switch to Old Trafford.

Lammens said: "The first time I heard it, I thought. 'Wow, a world team that follows you. That is special'. Of course, I was also spoken to about it a lot and when I made a save in training, it was United this, United that. Funny, I would do it the other way around too. But you can't dwell on it for too long.

"They are still just rumours. Those top clubs have so many scouts and follow so many players. So it doesn't have to mean anything yet. It will only become clear in the summer whether anything comes of it.

"But of course, it's only positive. Especially because it's the best competition in the world and my profile – my stature and way of playing – is similar to English football. You have to physically hold your own there and that suits me."

Lammens has established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper at Royal Antwerp this season, having recorded five clean sheets in 26 Jupilier Pro League appearances.

The goalkeeper, who is under contract until June 2027, has also made nine appearances for the Belgium Under-21 side.
