Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag reveals that the club are yet to make a decision on the future of on-loan Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon.

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has revealed that the club are yet to make a decision on the future of on-loan Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon.

Injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia led to Man United signing Reguilon from Spurs on transfer deadline day, and the Spaniard has made nine appearances for the 20-time English champions this season.

The 26-year-old has spent time out through injury this term, but he has featured in his side's last two Premier League games and impressed off the bench against Chelsea on Wednesday night.

Reguilon will now be hoping to feature from the start against Bournemouth on Saturday, with Shaw potentially operating alongside Harry Maguire in the middle of the defence.

There is a break clause in the loan agreement, meaning that it can be decided between Man United and Tottenham for the deal to end in January, with Reguilon heading back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham's plans for Reguilon are unclear, and Ten Hag could not provide any clarity on the situation when questioned during his press conference on Friday.

"Also, for that we have to make a final decision but there is another club Spurs involved in it as well," said the manager while speaking to the media.

Reguilon has featured on six occasions in the Premier League this season, while he has played twice in the Champions League against Bayern Munich and Copenhagen.

Ten Hag also addressed Alejandro Garnacho's form on Friday, with the Argentina international impressing of late, scoring against Everton and Galatasaray, in addition to providing an assist in Wednesday's success over Chelsea.

"Yeah, so we make players to make this development happen. That was our assessment at the start of the season, we wanted to bring him and give him the time to deliver what he's doing in this moment," said Ten Hag when questioned on the forward.

"I think there's a big potential and a lot where he can build on, but we are happy with how he is performing at this moment.

"We are happy with his contribution, always the base, the foundation, is the defending part, but now also attacking-wise, he has the key actions. He has the assists, he has a goal threat, he scores goals. That is also very important for an offensive player, that you get the production in."

Garnacho is set to retain his spot in the side against Bournemouth on Saturday, with the Argentine expected to start even if Marcus Rashford is able to overcome an illness which forced him to miss Friday's training session.

Man United are currently sixth in the Premier League table, three points behind fourth-placed Manchester City on the same number of matches (15).
