Manchester United defender Phil Jones has reportedly emerged as a surprise transfer target for Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Jones's current contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of this season, although United are expected to trigger a 12-month extension clause in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old could still leave the club next summer, though, and talkSPORT reports that Arsenal and Spurs are among the interested parties.
A mixture of form and fitness has limited Jones to just two appearances so far this season, although manager Jose Mourinho is still understood to want to keep the England international at Old Trafford.
United are also reluctant to sell Jones to a direct top-six rival, although they could have limited influence on his destination if they do not agree a new contract.
Jones has been a United player since 2011, making almost 200 appearances for the club across all competitions.
