Manchester United to complete Robin van Persie signing this week?

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie will reportedly sign on the dotted line for Manchester United this week ending months of speculation.

Manchester United are reportedly expected to win the race to sign Arsenal striker Robin van Persie this week.

The former Premier League champions have emerged as the favourites to land the prolific frontman following Manchester City's decision to give up on their pursuit of the Dutchman.

While Juventus were also thought to be strong contenders for the forward's signature, reports have claimed that the Serie A side have been put off by Van Persie's wage demands.

It is understood that the 29-year-old is likely to opt for a switch from the Emirates to Old Trafford and he could sign on the dotted line tonight, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Van Persie travelled with the Gunners to Germany for their pre-season preparations ahead of the start of the new season next week.
