Report: Roma, Genoa in for Alexander Buttner

Roma and Genoa are leading the chase to sign Manchester United defender Alexander Buttner, according to a report.

Roma and Genoa are reportedly interested in Manchester United full-back Alexander Buttner.

The 24-year-old has been unable to dislodge Patrice Evra since arriving at Old Trafford from Vitesse Arnhem last year and looks likely to leave the club during the January transfer window.

According to The Mirror, the Serie A pair would like to take the Dutch Under-20 international on a loan deal, whereas United would prefer a permanent transfer.

Buttner came on in the 80th minute of yesterday's 3-1 win over West Ham United.
