Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly toying with the idea of launching a £35m bid for Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney this summer.
The England international is said to be concerned over United's pursuit of current Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal, who is expected to name compatriot Robin van Persie as his captain and main striker should he take the reins at Old Trafford.
Van Gaal is also expected to recruit another forward in the transfer window and, according to The Daily Mail, the big-spending Ligue 1 outfit will offer Rooney an escape route to the French capital.
The 28-year-old, who signed a bumper £300,000-per-week deal after committing his long-term future to the Red Devils back in February, will command a reported £35m as a result of the recent contract extension.
Rooney, whose existing deal expires in 2019, has struck 19 times in all competitions for United this season.
