Real Madrid declined the chance to sign midfielder Paul Pogba from Manchester United earlier this year, according to a report.
The Frenchman's agent Mino Raiola was recently revealed to have offered the £89m ace to Manchester City during the January transfer window.
City were not alone in declining talks, though, as Sports Illustrated suggests that Madrid were also given a chance to sign the 25-year-old but did not want to break the club's wage structure.
Pogba has had a largely hit-and-miss campaign with United, finding himself out of the starting lineup for a string of important matches over the past couple of months.
Jose Mourinho included the former Juve man in his side from the off against Manchester City last time out, however, and was rewarded with two goals in a 3-2 win at the Etihad Stadium.
The same report indicates that Pogba will now likely remain in place at Old Trafford during the summer transfer window.
