Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata reportedly remains in discussions with the Premier League club over extending his contract.
Thursday marks the fifth-year anniversary of Mata's arrival at Old Trafford, having joined in a then-club record £37m transfer from Premier League rivals Chelsea.
The Spain international is nearing the end of his United deal, however, with his existing terms due to run out at the end of the season.
Talk regarding Mata's future has gone quiet of late but, according to the Manchester Evening News, United are not ruling out a renewal.
The sticking point is said to come down to the length of the contract awarded to the former Valencia ace, as he wants to stay on for longer than one year.
Mata turns 31 in April and the Red Devils do not tend to offer players of that age renewals of more than 12 months, but the two parties will work on reaching an agreement before the summer.
