Report: Manchester United refuse to meet Juventus's asking price for Arturo Vidal

Manchester United are reportedly refusing to meet Juventus's £34m asking price for Arturo Vidal.

Manchester United's pursuit of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal is reportedly in danger of coming to an end due to disagreements over the fee.

Yesterday, reports had emerged claiming that the Chile international's move to Old Trafford was "imminent", but it is now believed that the two clubs are not close to agreeing a deal.

According to The Mirror, United are refusing to meet the Italian outfit's asking price of £34m for the midfielder as they believe that Juve are using them to create a bidding war.

The Serie A side are expected to sell either Vidal or Paul Pogba in order to ease their financial issues, but United are said to be standing firm on not paying over the odds, despite sealing a record kit deal with Adidas worth around £750m yesterday.

Reports have claimed that United manager Louis van Gaal may turn his attention to Real Madrid's Angel di Maria, who was heavily linked with a switch to Paris Saint-Germain, but it is believed that the Argentina international would prefer a move to the Premier League.

There are suggestions that the former English champions may find it difficult to convince Di Maria to join the club due to their lack of Champions League football next season.
