Report: Manchester United prepare Ricardo Rodriguez bid

Wolfsburg left-back Ricardo Rodriguez emerges as a reported January transfer target for Manchester United.

Manchester United are reportedly considering a January move for Wolfsburg full-back Ricardo Rodriguez.

The 23-year-old, who has also previously been linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona, has been with Wolfsburg since 2012, making more than 100 league appearances for the German outfit.

Luke Shaw's long-term injury has led to talk that Man United boss Louis van Gaal will move for a new left-back in January, despite the strong recent performances of Marcos Rojo.

According to Sport Bild, Van Gaal is keen on bringing Rodriguez to Old Trafford, with the Swiss international also able to operate in a left midfield role.

Rodriguez, who has played against Man United in the Champions League this season, has made 33 appearances for Switzerland.
