Rafael completes Lyon switch

Brazilian full-back Rafael da Silva joins Lyon from Manchester United on a four-year contract.

Lyon have completed the signing of Brazilian full-back Rafael da Silva from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old has signed a four-year deal with the Ligue 1 outfit after confirming his exit from Old Trafford earlier this evening.

Rafael joined United along with his twin brother Fabio da Silva in January 2008 from Fluminense and helped the club to win three Premier League titles.

However, he made just 11 appearances for the Red Devils last season and started just one match between January and the end of the campaign.
