Paris Saint-Germain target Patrice Evra

Paris Saint-Germain want to sign a left-back in January and have made Manchester United defender Patrice Evra their number one target, according to reports.

Manchester United defender Patrice Evra could be tempted back to his native France by a bid from Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports.

Evra supported PSG as a child and was part of their youth setup for a brief time before moving to Italy in search of regular playing time.

The Independent believes that United are willing to let Evra go for around £5m and will renew their interest in Everton full-back Leighton Baines as a replacement.

The 31-year-old has two years left on his contract at Old Trafford and is serving as a stand-in captain while Nemanja Vidic battles back from injury.

Evra's £90,000-a-week wages would not prove a stumbling block to any potential deal, with PSG backed by the Qatar Investment Authority.
