Paris Saint-Germain supposedly believe that they are in the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane, despite reports stating that he does not want a move to France.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly ready to rival Bayern Munich for the signing of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, although the Ligue 1 champions will not be drawn into a bidding war for the player.

With Spurs' all-time record goalscorer turning 30 on Friday, the forward has been the topic of intense transfer speculation this summer after another impressive campaign in North London.

Kane netted 30 Premier League goals in 38 starts - with only Manchester City's Erling Haaland managing more - representing his highest tally since the 2017-18 campaign under the stewardship of Mauricio Pochettino.

The 2022-23 term was also a groundbreaking season for the striker on the international stage, with his penalty conversion against Italy in March for England confirming the 29-year-old as the nation's all-time leading scorer.

It has been widely reported that Kane is attracting interest in England and from around Europe, and according to Sky Sports News, PSG still believe that they could be able to sign the player this summer.

Previously, it has been suggested that the Englishman is not keen on a move to the French capital, favouring switches to Manchester United or Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.

With Les Parisiens aware of such reports, it is understood that the Ligue 1 holders would not make a formal approach for Kane unless they received signals from the player and Spurs that a deal could be reached.

As mentioned, Bayern Munich are understood to be heavily interested in Tottenham's talisman, with head coach Thomas Tuchel perceiving the Three Lions star as someone who could fill the void left by Robert Lewandowski's departure in the summer of 2022.

It has been reported that the Bavarians are willing to pay in excess of €100m (£86m) to sign Kane in this window, as Bayern aim to fend off the perennial challenge from Borussia Dortmund for the Bundesliga crown.

Spurs' majority owner Joe Lewis is said to have told chairman Daniel Levy that he must sell the attacker this summer if the player does not agree to fresh terms in North London.

Kane has less than 12 months left on his current deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, meaning that the club could lose one of European football's elite marksmen for nothing next summer.

Although PSG are extremely keen on Kane, the club also have other striker targets that they are actively working to recruit, including Atalanta BC striker Rasmus Hojlund.

It is understood that Denmark international Hojlund has agreed personal terms with the French champions ahead of a potential switch to Ligue 1, with Manchester United also interested in the 20-year-old.
