Manchester United's new minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe allegedly makes six first-team players at Old Trafford 'unsellable'.

Manchester United's new minority shareholder has allegedly made six members of the first-team squad at Old Trafford 'unsellable' during this summer's transfer window.

The summer market has now officially opened, and Man United allegedly made their first move on Friday, submitting a £35m offer for Jarrad Branthwaite, which is expected to be swiftly turned down by Everton.

The Red Devils are targeting a new centre-back, central midfielder and centre-forward this summer, while more players could arrive depending on the amount of money that can be raised through sales.

However, according to The Mirror, there are six players in the first-team squad that the 20-time English champions will not allow to leave under any circumstances.

The report claims that Andre Onana, Lisandro Martinez, Diogo Dalot, Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund are all regarded to be untransferable.

Mainoo 'will not leave' despite Barcelona talk

Mainoo's future has recently been called into question, with Barcelona said to be interested in securing his signature during this summer's transfer window.

However, it is alleged that the midfielder, who is currently with the England squad at Euro 2024, will not be allowed to leave, with a new contract instead expected to be agreed.

Martinez and Dalot are viewed as a key part of the club's defence moving forward, while Garnacho and Hojlund both impressed for the Red Devils last season despite the team's problems.

Garnacho made more appearances (50) than any outfield player at Man United last season, while he came up with 10 goals and five assists.

Hojlund, meanwhile, faced criticism during stages of the 2023-24 campaign, but a successful first season at Old Trafford saw him manage 16 goals and two assists in 43 appearances.

Rashford 'is available for transfer this summer'

Marcus Rashford, though, is allegedly available for transfer, with the club prepared to listen to any sensible offers which arrive for the England international.

A departure for the Red Devils academy product this summer would count as pure profit under the Premier League's rules surrounding profit and sustainability.

Rashford was handed a lucrative new contract at Old Trafford off the back of scoring 30 times in all competitions during the 2022-23 season, but he only managed eight goals last term.

The 26-year-old's struggles saw him left out of the England squad for the European Championship, and he cut a frustrated figure on the field for much of the campaign.

Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal have both been credited with an interest in Rashford, although it is unlikely that either club will make an offer for him during the current market.
