Manchester United's David Moyes won't shift from stance on Wayne Rooney

David Moyes reiterates that Wayne Rooney will not be sold by Manchester United, even if Chelsea launch a third bid.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has reiterated the club's stance that striker Wayne Rooney will not be sold before the close of the transfer window on September 2.

Reports have claimed that the England international is keen on leaving Old Trafford following two rejected bids from Chelsea, but Moyes has insisted that the club will not budge, even if the Blues lodge a third bid next week.

"I hardly need to repeat it," Moyes said in a press conference. "It doesn't need to be said."

Rooney could be in the squad for United's Premier League clash against Chelsea on Monday.
