Manchester United manager David Moyes has declared that the Reds have not lodged an official offer for Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale.
Moyes had been coy on the subject of a bid for Bale in an interview with Sky Sports News last night, following United's 0-0 draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford.
In his post-match press conference Moyes insisted that United will always target top players if they become available, but admitted there has been no move for Bale at this stage.
When asked by the Manchester Evening News if United had bid for Bale, the Scot replied: "No. I have just said Manchester United are always interested in the best players.
"The board and myself would always be looking to sign who we think are the best players, whoever they are."
The long-running saga surrounding Bale's future took a new twist yesterday, with Spurs reportedly considering an offer from a club other than Real Madrid for the Welshman.
