Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly decided to bring in a new right-back during the summer.
In recent months, it has been well documented that Mourinho wants to strengthen at left-back, with Luke Shaw having failed to make an impact at Old Trafford and Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian both expected to leave in the summer.
However, according to The Guardian, the Portuguese also wants to add competition for the established Antonio Valencia on the opposite flank.
Valencia is one of Mourinho's most trusted performers but the United boss is said to acknowledge that a long-term replacement is required due to the Ecuadorian turning 33 in the summer.
The same applies to the versatile Ashley Young, who continues to be used on both sides of the pitch and has also been converted from a winger.
