Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that the club have ended their interest in signing Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
Mourinho has not been shy regarding his pursuit of Rooney throughout the summer, but the Portuguese coach has now admitted defeat and insisted that the chase for the England international has finished.
The 50-year-old told Sky Sports News: "It's the end. We have a good group. For all parties, it's finished. One thing is to tell you through other people that you want, you want, you want very much.
"But at the end of the day, I feel that everyone has the right to show his life, his future and I respect that."
Chelsea added Cameroonian forward Samuel Eto'o to their squad earlier this week to ease the disappointment of failing with their bid to sign Rooney.
