Manchester United have reportedly identified Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare as a potential replacement for Paul Pogba.
While Pogba has expressed a desire to leave Old Trafford, United will not consider parting ways with the World Cup winner until they make an addition of their own.
According to ESPN, the Premier League giants may attempt to sign Soumare should they sell Pogba in the summer.
The 20-year-old is regarded as one of Lille's key men, with 10 starts and three substitute appearances coming in Ligue 1 and the Champions League this season.
With Soumare having less than a year remaining on his contract, United are currently in a strong position to either sign the prospect for a cut-price fee in January or a free transfer in July.
However, Lille are expected to make a sustained attempted to tie the player down to a long-term deal.
