Manchester United are reportedly at an impasse with Alexis Sanchez over the Chilean forward's future at Old Trafford once his loan deal with Inter Milan expires.
Sanchez has spent 2019-20 at San Siro and has returned to his form of old since last month's restart, scoring and assisting a combined 10 goals in his last 11 appearances.
The 31-year-old is due to return to United in the next few weeks but is eager to head back to Inter, either on another loan deal or on a permanent basis.
According to the Daily Star, however, the Red Devils are not prepared to sanction his sale as they feel that Sanchez - who has two years to run on his £500,000-a-week contract - can still do a job for them.
A source is quoted by the publication as saying: "Alexis doesn't see the point in going back to Manchester.
"He's happy where he is. It just didn't work out for him at United and wants the club to accept that he wants to leave."
Inter are supposedly prepared to pay up to £30m to sign Sanchez, but only if he agrees to take a big pay cut.
