Manchester United will reportedly go head to head with Arsenal in an attempt to secure the signature of Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi, with the Frenchman said to be keen on a move.
The 32-year-old joined Juve from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 and has made 118 appearances for the Turin club.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United see him as a potential replacement for Paul Pogba but will face competition from Arsenal and Lyon.
The report adds that Pogba is keen on a move away from the Old Trafford club, with Real Madrid, PSG and Juve all rumoured to be interested.
Matuidi is reportedly under contract at the Bianconeri until 2021 after the club are said to have triggered a clause in his current deal, meaning that any suitor would have to pay a transfer fee to acquire him in the summer.
The World Cup winner has made 30 appearances this season, scoring one goal.
