Manchester United 'to allow either Dean Henderson or David de Gea to leave this summer'

Manchester United will allow either Dean Henderson or David de Gea to leave the club this summer, according to a report.

Manchester United will reportedly allow either Dean Henderson or David de Gea to leave the club during this summer's transfer window.

Henderson returned to Old Trafford last summer following a successful loan spell at Sheffield United, and the 23-year-old has made 12 appearances for the Red Devils this season.

De Gea has remained United's first-choice stopper, though, featuring on 27 occasions in all competitions, including 22 outings in the Premier League, where Henderson has played just three times.

According to The Sun, Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not comfortable with his goalkeeping situation and will allow one of the two stoppers to leave on loan or on a permanent deal in the upcoming market.

The report claims that De Gea is likely to remain the club's first-choice stopper, meaning that Henderson will have to leave on another short-term deal or seek first-team football elsewhere on a permanent basis.

The England goalkeeper was handed the gloves for Thursday's 4-0 win over Real Sociedad in the Europa League but could be back on the bench against Newcastle United in the league on Sunday night.
