Manchester United are reportedly plotting a swoop for Anderlecht left-back Sergio Gomez.
The 21-year-old came through the ranks at Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund before joining Anderlecht in 2021, and he has made an immediate impression under Vincent Kompany.
Gomez has scored six goals and provided 14 assists in 41 matches across all tournaments in the 2021-22 campaign, with his form supposedly leading to interest from across the continent.
According to Anderlecht-Online, Man United are now preparing an offer for the Spain Under-21 international, but the Red Devils will face stiff competition for the defender's services.
The report adds that interest from Inter Milan could spark a bidding war for Gomez's services, while Leeds United have also been keeping an eye on his rapid development.
Man United are understood to have already sent scouts to watch Gomez, whose contract with Anderlecht does not expire until the end of the 2024-25 season.
A versatile player, Gomez has often featured on the left or right-hand side of the attack for Spain's Under-21s and has registered six goals and six assists from nine international appearances at that level.
