Manchester United 'looking to offload Angel di Maria'

Reports in Spain suggest that Manchester United will look to recapture as much of the £60m transfer fee splashed out on Angel di Maria by selling him this summer.

Manchester United will reportedly look to sell Angel di Maria at the end of the current campaign following a poor maiden season in English football.

The Argentina international was shown a red card in his side's FA Cup quarter-final defeat at the hands of Arsenal earlier this week to round off what has been a bad few months.

Since making a British-record move to Old Trafford last summer for a fee of £59.7m, the 27-year-old has scored four goals in 27 appearances, just one of which has come this calendar year.

Fresh reports have emerged in Spain suggesting that Di Maria could now be offloaded by United, with Mundo Deportivo claiming that he is "on the market".

It is also said that boss Louis van Gaal is planning a major overhaul of the largely misfiring squad, which could see a total of four big-name players head for the exit in the coming months.
