Manchester United have reportedly identified Boca Juniors forward Carlos Tevez as a potential January addition.
With United struggling for goals and Marcus Rashford out injured until April, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under pressure to bring in reinforcements.
A number of high-profile names have been linked with a switch to Old Trafford, including Luka Jovic, Fernando Llorente and Krzysztof Piatek.
However, according to Tuttosport, United are contemplating whether to launch a surprise approach for former player Tevez.
The 35-year-old, who previously played for United between 2007 and 2009, is out of contract in June, potentially leading to Boca being willing to part ways with the club legend.
Tevez has not competed in Europe since 2015, when he ended a successful two-year period at Juventus in order to return to Argentina.
