Manchester United could reportedly move for Sporting Lisbon attacker Pedro Goncalves during this summer's transfer window.
The Red Devils are expected to be in the market for a right-sided forward in the upcoming market, and Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho continues to be linked with a move to Old Trafford.
However, according to The Telegraph, Man United have identified Goncalves as a cheaper alternative to Sancho, with the former having a £52m release clause in his current deal at Sporting.
The report claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are reluctant to spend the majority of their transfer budget on Sancho and are therefore considering alternative options in the market.
Goncalves represented Wolverhampton Wanderers between 2017 and 2019 but only made one first-team appearance for the English club before returning to Portugal with Famalicao.
The 22-year-old has been in impressive form for Sporting during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring 15 times and registering five assists in 26 appearances in all competitions.
Goncalves, who is yet to make his senior international debut for Portugal, has a contract at Estadio Jose Alvalade until the summer of 2025.
