Manchester United are yet to make an approach for Lens defender Facundo Medina despite the recent speculation, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The 20-time English champions were thought to be interested in the 21-year-old, who had allegedly emerged as a £10m January target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
However, according to Romano, United have not been in touch with Lens to discuss the centre-back, and he is not currently being viewed as a primary target for the club.
"Manchester United have *not* opened talks with Lens to sign Facundo Medina, as of today. He's not considered a target for January for Man Utd as Moises Caicedo [Brighton are still working to sign him]," the journalist posted on his official Twitter account.
Medina, who made his Argentina debut last October, has featured on 12 occasions in Ligue 1 during the 2020-21 campaign.
The defender only joined Lens from Argentine club Talleres last July and has a contract with the French outfit until the summer of 2024.
