Manchester United could have been handed a boost in their alleged pursuit of Raphael Varane, with Real Madrid thought to have already secured a deal for a potential replacement.
Madrid are said to be open to the idea of selling Varane during this summer's transfer window, and a recent report claimed that Man United were in advanced talks to sign him.
Los Blancos are believed to have agreed a five-year contract with David Alaba, who will seemingly arrive at the Bernabeu when his Bayern Munich deal expires at the end of June.
As a result, Zinedine Zidane's side could be open to Varane leaving, with the France international's contract at the club due to expire in June 2022.
The 27-year-old will allegedly be available for a fee in the region of €70m (£60.6m) due to the fact that his current deal will end next summer.
Man United are thought to be keen to sign a new long-term partner for captain Harry Maguire, and Villarreal's Pau Torres has also been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford.
