Manchester United are reportedly prepared to go all out to sign Villarreal defender Pau Torres in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have made bringing in a long-term partner for Harry Maguire their priority ahead of next season.
Torres is one of a number of rumoured options for United, having risen through the ranks at Villarreal to become one of La Liga's hottest properties.
Spanish outlet AS suggests that United are "obsessed" with the idea of signing the 24-year-old, who has a €50m (£43.3m) release clause in his contract.
However, it is claimed that United face a big challenge trying to persuade Torres to join them as he is not overly keen on moving to the Premier League.
That could put Real Madrid, who may need to replace long-serving skipper Sergio Ramos this summer, in the driving seat, while Bayern Munich are another rumoured option for Torres.
