Three European clubs are reportedly leading the race for in-demand Benfica attacker Darwin Nunez.
The 22-year-old took his tally to 31 goals for the season in all competitions with a hat-trick against Belenenses in the Primeira Liga at the weekend - his 22nd, 23rd and 24th goals in 24 league games this season.
Nunez's sterling season has attracted interest from several top clubs across the continent, and the Uruguay international would reportedly favour a move to Manchester City.
However, The Athletic reports that Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea - despite their current transfer ban while Roman Abramovich remains in charge - are the three clubs currently spearheading the charge for Nunez's signature.
The report adds that Benfica will likely be open to sale if they receive offers in the region of €70m (£58.6m), but manager Nelson Verissimo has affirmed that the club should try to match the £113m they sold Joao Felix for in 2019.
Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in Nunez, who has scored 45 goals and set up 15 more in 80 games for Benfica since his arrival from Almeira in 2020.
The former Penarol youngster is not due to become a free agent until the end of the 2024-25 season.
