Manchester City reportedly plan to rival Manchester United for the signature of West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice this summer.

Manchester City are reportedly planning to rival Manchester United for the signature of West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice this summer.

The 23-year-old is believed to have rejected the chance to sign a new deal with David Moyes's side, where his current contract is due to run until the summer of 2024.

Moyes has always affirmed that Rice is not for sale, and interested parties could be forced to stump up a nine-figure bid to try to prise the England international away from the London Stadium.

Man United are believed to have made Rice a key target for the summer window, but the Daily Mail now claims that bitter rivals Man City want to beat the Red Devils to his signature.

Fernandinho has confirmed that he will leave the Premier League champions at the end of the season, and the report adds that City have asked to be kept in the loop with regards to Rice's future.

The former Chelsea youngster has struck five goals and set up four more in 43 appearances for the Hammers this term, but the capital side are supposedly planning to reject all offers for their lynchpin in the upcoming transfer window.
