Manchester City have reportedly decided against making a move for Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish this summer.
The England international enjoyed another stellar campaign before being sidelined with a shin injury, scoring six goals and setting up 12 more for Dean Smith's side in the current Premier League season.
Grealish was tipped to complete a move to either Man City or Manchester United last summer, but the attacker instead elected to pen a new deal with Villa, where he is now under contract until 2025.
The Etihad Stadium continues to be mentioned as a possible destination for Grealish in the 2021-22 season, but The Mirror claims that City will not be following up their interest in the 25-year-old.
The report suggests that City are not prepared to fork out a nine-figure sum for Grealish this summer, as Pep Guardiola has admitted that signing a big-money replacement for the departing Sergio Aguero could be "impossible".
However, the same outlet has claimed that Guardiola is still determined to bring Erling Braut Haaland to the Etihad this summer, and a move for the Borussia Dortmund man would scupper any hopes of securing Grealish's services.
The Villa captain has missed his side's last six Premier League matches through injury, but he could return to action when Smith's side take on Fulham on Sunday.
