Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly ready to rival Manchester United for the signature of Gent striker Jonathan David this summer.
The 20-year-old has attracted the attention of a number of Europe's top clubs courtesy of a prolific run of form in Belgium, where he has scored 18 goals and created eight more in just 25 league games this season.
The bulk of the interest is understood to come from the Premier League, with Manchester United considered the early front-runners as their search for a new striker continues.
However, The Express reports that Liverpool and Chelsea both had scouts in attendance to watch Thursday's Europa League clash against Roma, when David scored but was unable to prevent his team being eliminated.
Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City are also thought to be keeping tabs on the Canadian international, while scouts from Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Southampton and West Ham United reportedly watched the match too.
David broke into the Gent first team last season and has since scored 37 goals and registered 15 assists in 81 appearances across all competitions.
